Previously, I introduced you with some of the most popular online poker platforms- Replay Poker & Global Poker. As I told you that these games are a bit difficult & need an unbeatable strategy to defeat an opponent. I played several games in these online casinos, but after playing them for some time, I lost a hefty amount of money. Then I had only one thought in my mind, “How to recover the lost money?”
In my quest to recover the lost money, I joined several chat rooms asked multiple questions. After some time, a user replied to me by saying, “Try Roulette”. Yes, “Roulette wheel”, I already knew about this type of poker, but due to the shock of losing my money, I was not able to figure out a way. Later, I started regular communication with the room member.
He gave me several tips about betting & I implemented those tips in my game to win my lost money back. I was glad, but a thought came in my mind, “What about others?” Yeah, you read it right! I realized that there are several poker players who want to recover their lost money or earn some extra bucks. So, I grabbed a pen & started writing everything I know about the Roulette wheel on a piece of paper.

What is Roulette?
Roulette or you can say little wheel in French is a casino game where you can choose to perform several bets on a single number or a group of several numbers. Besides, the colour in this game can be either red or black. Moreover, in this game, you can have only 1 number, and it can be either odd or even with the combination of low numbers between (1-18) & high numbers between (19-36).
A player who has the combination of winning number & colour is declared the winner. The process of finding a winning combination starts with a croupier, who spins a wheel in one direction.
After this, the croupier spins the ball in the opposite direction along with a slanted rounded track that is running around the outer edge of the wheel. Sooner or later, the ball loses its momentum passes through an area of deflectors and falls onto the wheel. Now, you get a number between the roulette of 37(European Style) or 38 (American Style).
Types of Bets
Before placing a bet on roulette, you must know different types of bets you can play on roulette. Well, as per your choice, you have two options- place a bet on a single number or on a different group of numbers. Moreover, you can use several betting patterns in a roulette & each one of them will have different odds of winning a game & getting a Pay-out.
In short, if you place a bet on several numbers than your chances of winning a game increases, but in return, you will get fewer pay-outs.
In addition to this, there three other categories of bets- inside, outside and announced bets. If you are a beginner, then I recommend you to learn about the first two categories as both of them are basic, and you can learn about them easily. Practise them regularly & if you have enough knowledge, then you can proceed to learn about the third one.
I know most of you might be curious about what is so unique about the announced bets. Well, I would say these are some advanced bets and right features only in selected roulettes. Now, let’s start learning all three types of bets one by one in detail-
Inside Bets
First of all, take a close look at the table layout of a roulette. The first thing you will notice that the main part consists of 37 numbers- from 0 to 36. Rest of the area is used for placing bets on a group of numbers. The group for betting can be red/black, odd/even, 1-18/19-36, dozens & columns. Moreover, if you have placed the bet on the numbers, then these bets are known as inside bets.
However, if you have placed the bets on the other sectors than these bets are known as Outside bets. Furthermore, Insides bets include 7 different types of bets. Let’s find them out one by one: –
Straight– Use straight bet if you are placing a bet on a single number. You can make this bet by placing the chip inside the square of a number.
Split- Place a bet on two numbers that are head-to-head to the tables. You can make this bet by placing the chip on the shared line.
Street- You can use it to place a bet on three numbers on the same line. You can do this by placing the chip on the outer corner of the row.
Six Line- Place a bet on two together lines. To place this type of bet, all you have to do is place the chip to the standard outer corner of the two adjacent lines.
Corner- Place the bet by putting the chips on the edge of 4 numbers. Moreover, this type of bet is the famous ‘square’ bet worldwide.
Trio- Place three number bet, including zero or zeros. In order to place a bet, you have to put the chip on the shared line of all three numbers.
Basket- You can place a bet on 4 numbers- 0, 1, 2 & 3 by setting a chip on the all the corners that are shared by the zero boxes.
Outside Bets

As I already told you above that outside bets are those bets that you place outside of the numbers field called sectors. All these sectors cover bigger groups of numbers. You can put 5 different types of outside bets. Let’s find out about them one-by-one: –
Red or Black – Place a bet on the colours of winning numbers.
Odd or Even – Place, a bet whether the winning number is even or odd.
19 to 36 or 1 to 18 – You can place a bet based on the higher or lower value of a winning number.
Dozens – Place a bet on up to one dozen of three dozen numbers that you can see on the layout of the table.
Columns – Place a winning bet from the three columns of the roulette table.
In addition to this, there is one other bet that you can place under an outside bet. However, it is available in individual variations of roulette. Can you guess its name? Well, it is known as the snake bet. It covers all the red numbers like 1, 5, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19….. You might be having a question- “Why Snake”. Well, the main reason behind is that it creates the “shape of a snake”.
Besides, in some other variations, all the black numbers like 2, 6, 8, 10, 13, 17, 20, 26…. are included. Instead of a red snake, these black numbers resemble a black snake. Moreover, the betting combinations of black snake are different from the red snake. There are two split bets-of 26/29 numbers & 17/20 numbers. Rest of the numbers are straight.
Announced Bets

As I told you above that the announced bets are of advanced levels. I recommend you to continue with these bets only and only after completely understanding the above two bets. In addition to this, you won’t find announced bets easily anywhere except some casinos with French roulette. In addition to this, you might find it in online European Roulette. Since these types of bets mostly feature in French roulette, you will find their individual French names easily.
First of all, I will tell you about the Voisins du Zéro bet, or you can say Neighbours of Zero in English. The bet includes zero and 7 other numbers that are present on each side of zero.
- A trio is covering 0,2,3 – 2 chips.
- Five splits: 4/7, 12/15, 18/21/ 19/22, 32/35 – one chip each.
- One corner: 25/26/28/29 – 2 chips.
Choosing Which Bet to Make
Now, after finding out about all these bets, most of you will be confused that which one to choose. Inside, outside or Announced? Well, don’t get confused as all of it depends on your adapted “roulette strategy”. Before proceeding, let me ask a question, “have you picked a strategy yet?” If not, then I recommend you to try two betting systems like Fibonacci or Martingale.
Now, pick any one of the “even money bets” and cover half of the numbers on the roulette wheel. Keep one thing in your mind that your chosen strategy will guide you in picking the right amount of money for a bet. Besides, I advise you to begin your roulette game with a very low bet. The main reason behind this is to make sure that you have some money to increase the stake of roulette after each loss in the game.
Before placing or raising your stakes, make sure to know the betting limit of different types of bets. After finding out the total limit, consider the amount that you are spending along with the strategy that you are using in your game. If you are still confused than answer some of my questions and you will get the solution to your problemsà
Are you low roller? If yes, find a table that allows you to place small bets.
Are you a high roller? Want to experience the betting on large amounts? Well, then look for tables that allows you to place bets with a large sum of money.
Note- Choose a game that fulfils the need of your betting limits.
HOW MUCH TO BET?
Are you confused about the amount of money you want to bet? Well, stop thinking & place your Normal bet on the number you selected. However, if you have selected more than one number, then place a minimum bet on all the repeaters. Besides, It is a rare chance that the roulette will include three repeating numbers.
Please Note: Are you a type of roulette player who places bets that are more than the minimum amount of table? If yes, then I recommend you to distribute your betting amount properly. You might be wondering “why” “why” & “why”. Well, the apparent reason is that instead of placing one single bet, you are placing bets on multiple big numbers. If you spend 50, then I recommend you to break up your bet with 25$ on two big numbers.
The Logic Behind the Wheel Layout

While playing roulette sometimes, I used to wonder what is the logic behind the wheel layout of roulette? Then after some time, I started to dig all the question related to it & the first secret I got to know was that the numbers on the wheel have nothing to do with their mathematical value. All these numbers are designed to accomplish several goals like these at once:
- The sequence of numbers in a wheel is a bit confusing. You will have a hard time finding the similarity between the numbers and sectors. So, it is next to impossible for you to notice any unfair gameplay. However, as compared to an average player, a pro roulette knows that how a sequence of roulette goes.
- It doesn’t matter what type of the roulette you play, but the only thing that matters the most is that the head-to-head pockets must have different colours.
- Throughout the wheel, all the ODD & EVEN are distributed evenly along with the wheel. In fact, in the European wheel, you won’t find more than two ODD & Even numbers next to each other.
